Post Win 2k is it time yet??

I have the 120 day final version of win 2k pro and the hiv file that kills the 120 day time limit I have it running on a seperate drive and boot from it when I feel like playing with it ..I see most of my stuff can run on it now and while trying out echo express backup software it was averaging 100 megs per minute(98 does 70per)so I wanna switch to it..Should I install over win98 (I hope so)what folder of the cd should I put on my hd so it wont bug me for the cd..And last but not least can I install it on a striped volume on my fasttrack 66 where win 98 lives now..
    Thank you gooorooos Matt

    1. Yes you can install over 98 but I of course do not recommend it.
    2. You don't need to copy the CD to the HD. NT5 already pretty much copies whatever it needs from the CD when you install it.
    3. Dunno...Don't see why not.

If you want the CABs on your HD, copy the I386 folder on the W2K CDROM.

It's my guess he's just being cautious. The safe way to install W2K is to install it in a separate partition away from W98 so that they may co-exist for a while and you can be sure your critical hardware and software are compatible before you get rid of W98. Having a back-up operating system is a good idea.
