I think what happening is analysts are beginning to look at Tesla not just as an auto manufacturer but as an auto + technology ecosystem + energy company. This is a whole other ball of wax.

Think of a Tesla vehicle not just as a conveyance but as a mobile software platform, like an iPhone. It can do the car stuff but it can also do over the air updates/upgrades, play video games and other online functions, do comms, security monitoring, and soon store electricity as part of a home & distributed grid battery system. The features they're adding is a very long list.

Self driving WILL come, which introduces robo-taxi capabilities. Uber without you in the car, which ALL the car companies have been chasing since 2015.

Then there's their Tesla Power division, with MegaPack battery arrays capable of automated grid power bidding, frequency regulation, backup, etc. MegaPack will benefit a lot from their upcoming new battery techs (Battery Day is Sept 22). These grid battery systems are selling fast.

Gigafactory Berlin I'd going up fast, or at least a lot faster than I thought German bureaucracy would allow. Targeting production in July 2021.
