At NASA Advisory Council meeting this morning, Bill Gerstenmaier (NASA Deputy Admin for Human Space Exploration) CONFIRMED that #CRS13/#Dragon is using a flight-proven booster - the CRS-11 booster from June. 1/2

    Chris G - NSF @ChrisG_NSF
He also confirmed that each CRS mission will be assessed on a flight-by-flight basis going forward to determine use of flight-proven #Falcon9 boosters. 2/2

So running out to fetch a new one not the cause of the delay

    Chris G - NSF @ChrisG_NSF
Per a statement yesterday, the launch slipped 4 days in part to allow SpaceX a couple more days to get SLC-40 ready and also to better align ISS vehicle schedules to provide a back up launch opportunity on 9 December.

    Targeting the 12th for launch.

Delays due to testing the new & upgraded pad hardware.

F9/CRS13: Falcon 9 hot-fire test complete at 3pm; appeared to run normal duration; no obvious issues; will stand by for an update from SpaceX

What are they resupplying? Is this the reusable rocket?

They're taking several tonnes of food, logistical supplies, instruments and experiments to the International Space Station. On the return leg they'll be bringing home experiments and biological samples, defective equipment or spacesuits for repair or disposal, trash, etc.

Both the Falcon 9 first stage and the Dragon spacecraft are reusable, and each will be flying its second mission. The second stage is expendable.

The upcoming (tests start 2020-ish) BFR* Booster and BFS* Spaceship will be entirely reusable, the upper stage being part of the Spaceship. Capable of cargo or manned travel to the Moon, Mars, asteroids, the outer Jovian moons (low radiation environments) using prepositioned propellant depots for refuelling. The test flight Spaceship's keel gets laid in Q2 2018. The USAF is paying for part of the engine development.

Most landing soot retained, hand washed, with strips removed for weld inspections.

Some delays due to late loading cargo, one payload which isn't going to make the launch, and some gremlins in the new ground support equipment on this 80% rebuilt pad.

SpaceX now targeting NET Fri. morning for launch of #CRS13 from Cape Canaveral. That's the only shot before Christmas due to beta angle cutout and Soyuz comings and goings at ISS.
