The Batman star Joe Manganiello, who will play Deathstroke in the film, reveals he'll be shooting the upcoming solo movie next spring!

Earlier this year, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes revealed an 18-month timetable for the upcoming solo Batman movie, the only true news on the film’s release up until this point. Now, speaking with ET, star Joe Manganiello (who will play Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in the film) has taken it a step further and revealed filming will begin next spring. Check it out in the video below.

Manganiello will face off against Ben Affleck’s Batman in the film with additional appearances by Jeremy Irons as Alfred and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon expected to happen as well. Affleck will both star in the film and sit in the director’s chair. DC Entertainment President and CCO Geoff Johns will serve as co-writer (with Affleck) and producer.

An official release date for The Batman hasn’t been set, but Warner Bros. has previously announced release dates for untitled movies on both October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019, meaning it could come on either of those dates.

So we may have had our fair share of Batman solo movies over the years, but I think it's time for more Justice League types, where Batman may team up with Green Lantern and another super hero to fight a more powerful enemy. Just like Batman vs Superman!

Having said that, a solo BM movie is always welcomed

Hey guys, it's been a while, hope all of you are staying safe!
Yes I saw that and I am looking forward to many movies to be released in 2021, like Batman, Suicide Squad, Marvel phase 4 movies, Wonder Woman 1984 and so on.
Last I heard that Robert Pattinson is suffering from Covid 19, which sucks!
Hope he recovers without any issues.

I was always wondering why are gun scenes in US movies so over the top.

In USA on average everyone has a gun and people who don't have guns have relatives / friends and are at least somewhat familiar with how shooting and guns work. Yet gun scenes in movies have nothing whatsoever to do with reality - people firing full auto weapons in long bursts in closed quarters. Characters immune to bullets, etc... etc... Not this movie but almost always no trigger discipline.

If you made movies for some anti gun country where people learned all about guns from movies this would work. But in USA it must break immersion for people familiar with guns.

There are of course exceptions such as John Wick, Dirty Harry,...
