Thread: Image Slicing..

  1. #1

    Default Image Slicing..

Can anyone show me how to slice up an image?

what I want to do is to take this picture:

and then slice the photo into 20 separate 8x10 pictures. 5 wide and 4 down

basically I have a fake window pane sorta thing so on one of my walls i'm going to attach the 8x10's to the back of the window thingy and hang it on the wall, so on the bare wall it would look like youre looking out a huge picture window..

    get it?

    HELP!

    Assuming you've got Photoshop...

    Load the image.
Right click on the slice tool and select Slice select tool.
Right click on the little "01" symbol in the top left corner of the image and hit divide slice.
Enter the proper divisions you require.
Then Save For Web and save it in whatever format you want (PNG-24 is lossless for example.) Now you'll have a folder full of the slices you wanted.

Liz are you trimming each picture so that the space taken up by the frame is removed from the photo, or are they basically all lining up next to each other when you attach them to the back?
Wikipedia and Google.... the needles to my tangent habit.

Ive sent off for the pictures because when i printed them at home i ran out of color ink doing it.

So when ordering online ive added the white border feature to all the pictures so i wont have that priblem

Presumably your white border replaces that part of the image, allowing for the bit of the view that would be obscured by the window frame?
