Fusion is apparently the Matrox Chipset (for Notebooks?).

Haig, does this mean you are going to give up on "Parhelia", as a name for future products?
      Nope.

      So what's Mistral then?
It's an internal name for a chip. We came out with this product many years ago.

        I think Mistral = Mill2 (?)

Well, I must say, if you are only an occasional gamer, the Parhelia is awesomely good, especially photo & graphics. Of course you need the equivalent monitors to appreciate it. With my 128 I only got hiccups with the occasional huge graphic, but now with the 256, no hiccups at all, just slide anything smoothly around. Thanks Matrox, that's really worth something.

Like your avatar knirfie. You should make something less boring for Haig. That logo is too official for his warm-hearted and humorous character.
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
          Who cares?

"Mistral" is most likely another unreleased chip / card I have been hearing of... (placing somewhere between G450 and G800 that also never came out.) IMO, this doesn't change much... G550 is still what is left from G800. (some sort of downscaled version.)

EDIT: naah, forget that... if "Mistral" actually was released it can't be unreleased. (what is it then?? it has a own ID that differs from the all others.)

Could it have been a "MAXX" version of the G4xx?

LOL it must be the G250

nay... that list is more or less chronological order.

and ya, shouldn't a new product from big M be around????

(darn it it must be that super-dupa Parhelia for those ViewSoic 27" Screens

hopefully Matrox is planning on some sort of new chip soon.

According to this, "Mistral" was indeed the Millennium ][...

                  Edit: Here's one for Haig: <img src="http://koti.mbnet.fi/~sampokoo/misc/techsupp.gif">

Hey on that site it says there was a G600 that was turned into G450, are they just BSing there? If not, G450 could finally make sense (die shrink -> higher clocks, DDR, would have been a nice high-end refresh at the time).
