What were the first vehicles you owned?
My first bike was a 1932 250 cc BSA, with hand gear change on the right side of the tank and girder forks. It was a good machine with one weakness: the push rod for the clutch wore quickly: needed changing every 5000 miles and adjusting every 1000.
My first car was a 1936 Hillman Minx with a 1200 cc side valve engine. The max rpm was 2500 rpm! I once got it up to 60 mph going downhill and a following wind on the Military Road between Carlisle and Newcastle (old Roman road following Hadrian's wall, with several dead straight stretches).
Those were the days when motoring was an adventure! Wish I still had those vehicules!
