I love those itsy bitsy little SMC parts Matrox uses, you can see them (barely) close to the core and the AGP slot.

Haven't seen one before? Was this card only sold to OEM partners? What's the difference between a G200 and a G250?

          the g250 doesn´t have a heatsink.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

Hmm...I wonder the chip is identical to that on a G200 card.
And the G250 card looks like a clocked down G200 so that heatsink is not required.

              No, it's a die shrink.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

                Hi
I used to own a G200 LE (8MB SDRAM) that came without any heatsink. I remember discussing that here and was told that it didn't need one anymore coz of a die shrink from .35 microns to .25 microns.
chhfchhf's card has the chip marked as a G200 only! So it looks like the G250 was indeed some OEM thingy, with the same chip as regular later version (die shrunk) G200's like mine!! But then what was different in it for it to be called a G250??
                Cheers
                Ovi

yup. Die shrink. G250 uses 0.25 like the G400.

The packaging probably won't change. However, the silicon may be smaller

WOW! That's weird! Pretty sure its a G250 PCB though...

My G200 AGP Single Hand is a full ATX card, with no "cutting" at the edge.

                              G200 OEM for IBM(888-01)
                              G250(873-03)
                              G200 DVI(853-02)
                              all be cut the age
the die of G250 and G200 OEM for IBM is the same.
                              what is the G250 mean?
