  • Freelancer supports the Fusion G800!

    I was looking through the config files for Freelancer, and came accross this interesting tidbit.

    0x1527 = "Fusion G800"
    0x2007 = "Mistral"
    0x2527 = "G550"
    Disable1600x1200
    if os > win2k
    if driver < 5.12.1.1221
    UnsupportedDriver
    endif
    endif
    if os == win2k
    if driver < 5.10.1.1361
    UnsupportedDriver
    endif
    endif
    if os < win2k
    if driver < 4.12.1.1320
    UnsupportedDriver
    endif
    endif
    break

    0x0527 = "Parhelia 128"
    if os >= win2k
    if driver < 5.13.1.1065
    UnsupportedDriver
    endif
    endif
    if os < win2k
    UnsupportedDriver
    endif
    break

    Interesting, eh?

      Yes, let's surrect some G800 rumors again.

      (good old times when most people still thought Matrox could produce another 3D speed king after the G400MAX)
      But we named the *dog* Indiana...

          does this mean that the g800 actually reached the prototype phase, and was handed out to selected developers?
          This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

            What's quite funny retrospectively is that this old G1000 hoax page:

            partly matches ATIs R300 specs quite good...

            8 pipes
            105million transistors
            full DX9
            twice the speed of the competition
            96 and 128 bit color dephts
            But we named the *dog* Indiana...

                    How long has Freelancer been in Development? Very interesting to say the least
                    no matrox, no matroxusers.

                      Thop. Freelancer was in development for 5 years, first under Digital Anvil, then as Microsoft "rescued" the company, it continued it's work. But Microsoft is loosing the "creative core" from
                      Digital Anvil as Chris Roberts, Erin Roberts and Tony Zurovec, and some of the old crew from Origin, are leaving after finishing the Freelancer. So if any of you see similarities with Privateer 1//2 you know why....

                      To all:
                      How does it behave on a parhelia???
                      Any use of getting the game??

                      Hmm... some guy from Lancers reactor corrected me in an email... So I stand corrected.. 5 years not 4...

                        Well I remember everyone was raving on about when Digital Anvil were making it, and I'am definately a fan of Chris Roberts after the Wing Commander series So I would probably say yes. I mean lets face it Privateer was a real classic and this is privateer with a difference, ie more freedom and really Nice Graphics so YES! I would say it is worth it.

                            Yeah I have tried it on both my Radeon 9700 and My Parhelia, It appears to run well on both cards tbh. If a little slower on the Parhelia still very playable.
