Hey Brian, those of us on the west coast of North America will be able to hold out the longest. We'll be able to watch the rest of the world shutting down, time zone by time zone, on live TV here. That's until midnight our time, of course

Question is, will the site make it thru to the millennium ? It's showing cracks already, I've been up for the last 3 hours since the "first" millennium over at GMT-13 and I've nearly run out of paste

It turns out the dreaded Millennium Bug was a rather impotent insect...

Happy New Year to EVERYBODY. Specially thanks to Chris for the past and god luck in the future and for the new layout of the site,

                Dittos to that.

As for the US's Y2K meltdown: it was limited to one old spy satellite and some one-armed bandits in a Vermont casino ;-)

                  Doc

I always did prefer the good old mechanical types, where pulling the handle provided the energy to run the thing, to the razzamatazzy electronic abortions. They had the added advantage that they limited the amount of money lost because one's right arm got tired. However, they are not politically correct because there was no left-handed version (or should one say, version for the dextramanually disadvantaged?).
