  • 3DMark99: G400MAX@150/200 vs. G400MAX@170/227

As requested MAX overcocking results. If you manage to look at the tables without getting even slightly confused, you might notice some very cool performance differences. The first 'column' shows the MAX running at default speed (150/200), the second column when overclocked to 170/227.

Note that I ran the tests in AGP1X mode because of a supposed G400 driver bug which keeps my system from AGP2X. System is an Abit BH6, P2 333@4x112, 128MB LGS7J PC100 RAM, AGP aperture 128.

Makes you wonder what this card will do when firmly inserted in a Kryotech Cool 800

Note: An updated version of the following table is posted below

      Scytale,

Which tool did you use to o/c the MAX?

      Thanks.

          Way to go Scytale!

          I only get
          3,538 3DMarks and
          3,837 CPU 3DMarks
with mine at 800x600 @ 16bit, 3Dmark99MAX with my little 'ol 16MB OEM G400. (Weeks away from the MAX yet).

          I guess I got to start O/Cing!

Hi Maggi, see you got an ASUS P2B-S, got an LS here, but my P II 400 won't stand for any of that O/C business.

Do 400 Celerons take to O/C, or is it just the 300's with the faster cache?

          Thanks,

          SCompRacer1

Hi James, I used the latest (fixed) PowerStrip, version 2.51.07. G200clk doesn't work all the way with the MAX.

SCompRacer, you of all should know what a drop of nitro can do

Am I the only one who noticed his AGP isn't working right? Look at those 32meg texture scores! OUCH!

I know you said you are at 1x, but I don't think you're using AGP at all (which would explain why PCI list still says 2x - it don't know any better). Even 1x should get much better texture scores than that...

For a compairison on the 32meg rendering score, I just ran it (just that one test), and scored 96.5 (yours was 18 at best). I am in 2x mode, running a vanilla 32megDH at MAX speeds...

Hi Kruzin, by mere coincident I'm sure, I get a similar score like you when running 3DMark99 at 800x600x16

I just checked the scores on Liew's site and my 1024x768x16 scores are in the same range as theirs.

I never tried PCIlist, I think you're confusing me with someone else there. Sandra reports AGP1X+side band though.
The low scores for large textures at 1280x1024x32 would seem typical for AGP1X, I think.

                        Spider, and also Scytale

I´m sure you could do a bit better
                        if you just disable vsync.
I noticed you both have quite low refresh rates.
