    Also has matrox fixed its previous problems in performance in opengl? Im upgrading from a Viper 550 AGP 16 meg

    The Matrox is very CPU intensive. I love mine, and would recomend it if you had a faster CPU, but I don't think its the best solution for you. My K6-2 400 looked great with it, but was very slow. Now, with a K7-500 it cranks out the frame rates.
    If you can't upgrade the CPU/MoBo for a while you might want to think about one of the T&L boards out there. If you're gonna upgrade the system though, get a G400. Picture quality and DualHead (Awesome!) are the best there is.

      And Socket 7 AGP is a PITA with any AGP card ,Voodoo3 excluded, but then they're not really AGP cards anyway
