What is going on here? It started doing this (see topic) some time ago, first once in a while, but now it is almost every startup. I don't know exactly what was last installed that might have caused this, but I would like to get rid of it.

Oh, and if anyone could point me to some info/help about bootlog.txt, I would be grateful. Mine is several pages long, with a couple of "failure" messages. Could this be related?

Ive seen where an improper shutdown/startup doesn't delete temp files windows looks for at bootup (after an update) and then tries to unsucessfully complete the task.
You could run msconfig to see whats going on at boot time.
You could also try deleting your temp folder.

Search for a prg "boot log analyzer" for boot analysis.

LvR No, system has been overclocked long before this started to happen.

Paul msconfig seems normal. I will try wiping out the Temp folder, or at least all the files.

I don't know if you are in the same sitaution as me, but, My system does the same thing when i reboot after i have played Red Alert 2.

If i haven't played RA2 during the time my PC is up, it's fine.

Just one of those things i suppose
