    Hi guys, whats the procedure for bumping a picture in way of software needed to alter it so it gives a realistic effect.

      I don't know if this will help... it is (from my quick glance at it) a way to implement bumpmapping...

        Bohrn...hehe thanks.

        cbman...nice site, the last piece of programming i did was about 10 yrs ago in logo. I have a coral paint package but it only does 256 colours so everything goes into black and white, and another package i have converts all the colours to Xor (i think) so not much use. I'm looking for something to do 16 and 24 bit specifically to enhance some roleplay graphics.

          There are tutorials on the matrox www site, both for true EMBM and a photoshop fake bump mapping with example programs. Now that I think of it, there is a complete tutorial on bump mapping there...
          Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.
