  • what's a good file and registry activity monitoring utility ?

well .. as the topic says, i need to monitor what files goes where and which registry entries are added specially when installing new programs.
is there a utility that works for both win9x and win2k ??
i was thinking about sysinternals FileMon and registry monitor programs.
what do u guys think ?
in the past i used clean sweap 3.0(Win95 days). although it was a good program, it had some bugs and i don't need such a huge thing as i don't need the uninstaller thing.

    I use RegCleaner.
Don't know if this is what you're looking for, just give it a try.
Also check Project X (next version of RegCleaner, beta).

The filemon and regmon utilities from Sysinternals, just as you said.

They were made exactly for that purpose and nothing else.

thanx for the reply guys, i already d/l both file and reg mon from sysinternals.
looks like they do alot of work and it would take some time to get used to them.
Admiral : i was looking for some kinda tracker or logger .. i dunno if regclean would that, i'll give it a try anyway.
