I have just received an email from my ISP stating that because only 15% of their users play games regularly there are 20,000 users earning them no revenue so they are ending their 0800 dialup service. I dont really understand this but theres not a lot i can do apart from wonder what they spend my £25 a month on.

So anyone in the UK got a good fast ISP that costs no more than £25? It has to be 56k access i'm afraid

    What ISP was that then?

Can you get cable? Telewest do a dial up service which isn't meant to be that bad. Or if you're on BT - try their service.

I am stuck with a BT line unfortunately. I have considered their service but frankly they have more than enough of my money already so i'd like to try someone different. When they finally get their act together on ADSL then i will consider giving them some of my dosh.

If the worst comes to the worst then i will sign up with cough*AOL*cough

25 pound a month! You guys are paying out the nose over there.

Im paying NZ$60 a month (about 8 pound) and have a satelite connection that is nice and fast. A 56K connection is about NZ$30 a month (4 pounds roughly). Thats for 'all you can eat'. You can get cheaper rates if you limit your time or downloads.

ADSL over here is about NZ$60 but you are limited to 600MB a month, and I cant get it at my house

You tried freeserve? They're probably one of the few that can let you use free internet anytime besides BT that won't go bust or stop their services like everyone else. 56K I think is about £15 or maybe £20 for surfing anytime(can't be sure at the mo') and ADSL is more, I think £40 odd. (not including installation fees) But ADSL can be got elsewhere for better features and prices.

          Good hunting!
