  • Updaitng MB bios ....

Now, this may seem stupid to u, but i`really buggin ... i want to upgrade my MB bios ( Abit BE6II ), but the flash-util needs pure DOS to run. Now, i`m running winME, and as everybody knows, it doesnt have pure DOS. How do i do it? BTW, i have i fixed-freq monitor, so i can`t see a thing while in DOS ( Win works fine, i was told the only res i could run the monitor was 1280x1024, but i was able to get almost every res to work, spending hours in front of the PowerDesk mon. adjustment. So i guess the only thing i could do is to make a Startup-disk, and then make a autoexec and the like, to flash the bios automatically. But, whenever i boot using the regular Startup disk made wiht winME, it just loads windows?

    Try this MURC link:

    Compliments MURCer Ayoub_ibrahim.

I was in a similar situation, but I had an old Win98 start-up disk around, so I haven't tried the DosFix program. Looks pretty good, though.

Thats strange about your ME boot disk. I have been using one to fdisk RAID drives as it reports drive size over 64GB properly.

MSI K7D Master L, Water Cooled, All SCSI
      Modded XP2000's @ 1800 (12.5 x 144 FSB)
      512MB regular Crucial PC2100
      Matrox P
      X15 36-LP Cheetahs In RAID 0
