[HELP] Sounblaster Live, G450, Asus CUV 4X

Hi all. A friend of mine has a prob on these combo.

He has WinMe installed, and since it has changed the motherboard to an Asus CUV 4X every time he tries to play sounds -from winamp to games- the system goes blue screen giving an error on the Emu10k1.vxd

Any help, please?

i dont have that problem, but i cant put my computer to hybernate. when i wrote an email to the creative tech support, they told me they were working on a new vxd for me (actually its not a vxd but something else, dont remember exactly). that was a couple of weeks ago, dont know when it will be out.

Let's clarify.

He CHANGED THE MOTHERBOARD without reinstalling the OS?

Or did he reinstall and it's STILL having problems?

If it's the former, then he needs to... REINSTALL.

If it's the latter, is the OS running in ACPI mode? If so, turn it off. If not, turn it on.

This requires the latest BIOS, and maybe a reinstall (urk, there's that word again!)...
