  • incoming phone call/browser on line problem

Anyone know how to overcome this? If I am online and the phone rings, I miss the call. I seem to recall that the browser would be kicked off line when the phone rang, but not anymore.

I have call waiting, which works only for phone calls. (I am not using *70 to disable it).

The phone company was no help, neither was my ISP. However, I am sure someone here can help!!

There settings in the dailup networking that you allow you to disable/enable this. I suggest you check these. Under win2k it's under Network and dial up connections. Right click on your connection icon choose properties then dialing rules then edit. Under win98 I would have to disconnect find excatly where to look but it's going to be very similar. I'm doing a big upload at the moment so I won't be logging off for a bit.

Ah, a fellow Brit to the rescue...

I am using Win98, but I can only find a check box for disable call waiting in my modem properties. It is unchecked now, which means that call waiting is enabled...this is what I want, right?
