  • Celeron OC - Worked - Doesn't Work

I just upgraded my secondary system from p2 to Cel633mhz. Here's the wierd part:

When I first changed mobo, mems and cpu I booted up with my old windows98 installation. It worked fine at 633, 710 and 790mhz.

All fun and games I figured it was time to do a complete win98 reinstall so that I could install all the correct VIA drivers etc.

This worked great to... at 633mhz. If i try ANYTHING above, the computer hangs when I open explorer or "This computer".

Normally I would just accept this and say the cpu can't go any higher than 633. But... Err.. it did. Also, the CPU doesn't get even 1 degree hotter at 790mhz than 633.

    Short system info:
    Mobo: QDI Legent Advance 10
    Chipset: VIA Apollo Pro 133A
    CPU: Intel Celeron 633MHz FCPGA
    Mem: Original PC100

    Please... anyone?

    /Hamlet

I might tell that if I use the start-menu to start a game at 790mhz (ie. not explorer.exe) the game or whatever runs perfect for hours.

    Uhm...? Please help?

does your board allow you to manually increase Vcore? if yes, try tweaking the voltage up a little!

        Hmm, no it doesn't.

But does that really make any diffrence since URT (which I think is very cpu intensive) runs swell?
