Looks like you could use a bigger backup device and some network backup SW.

Looks like you're gonna have to trade in that 4 port KVM switch when you get your new Athlon system. When I got my OmniView 4 port I didn't really foresee needing the 8 port version, but who knows?

Just curious.. have you looked back and figured how many computers you've built for yourself over the years? Seems like you have a new one going every 3-4 months or so..

              ------------------
              Kind Regards,

Backup - Who needs backup? - DOH! Yes I do need a new solution, I'm thinking of the Onstream, or possibly the Quantum Super DLT.

Lan Party - Been a few of those, dedicated servers and all...

Systems Built - Too many to count (Not too mention the spread from the wallet)
                Let's see...

286-10, 286-12, 386-33, 386-40, 486-33, 486-DX250, 486-DX266, 486-DX4100 (AMD), Pentium 75, Pentium 90, Pentium 120, Pentium 133, Pentium 200MMX, AMD K6-233, K6?2?-300, K62-350, K62-400, Pentium III-450@650 (my brother has it now), Pentium III-650@866 (Still in use), Pentium III-700 (sold 2 days after purchse - no OC'ability), Pentium III-800 (Still in use), Pentium III-850 (Still in use), Pentium III-533 - Engineering sample without clock/multiplier lock, given to me. A plethera of motherboards, hard drives, scsi-controllers, sounds cards, video cards (90% Matrox), cases, power supplies, etc.... Now I'm really depressed

Hopefully the Athlon rig will become my primary ME system, then the 850 will go to the 2K, then the 800 will go to the 533 Linux box. I can then retire that old "Slow" processor... - I don't think I'm gonna go for 5 systems (I forgot to mention the 486-DX33 Laptop Gateway Nomad). I haven't had the heat on in the Apartment yet this winter, I usually have to open the window to cool the room down.

                    Although I don't have 4 I do have something.

I plan on upping the CPU a level or two bit shortly as well as the booting HDs. I still have some legacy equip in it.

The IRQ issues and getting the Ultra/100 to boot first was quite time consuming. And, I have 4 case fans (30CFM each), PS has two, and CPU has two.

I did not list my home theatre since it isn't part of my comp.. oh well.

That's OK Chuck, I've been thinking on upgrading the HD space with a set of 4 40GB ATA100's or maybe some 60's or 70's... Not sure which at this time...

May even go for just a single striped volume instead of the mirrored - that would give me about 280GB, Nah, 140GB is enough for now, the redundancy feels good....

I'm still waiting on 760 Chipset (761 Northbridge and 766 southbridge) for the next upgrade...

When you start posting stuff about your Adaptec SCSI160 RAID controller with 128 MB RAM on it, and your 6 hot swap drive RAID 0+5 array, with 2 GB RAM, Quad CPU's and your new 16 VSA-100/1GB Quantum 3D video card...then I'll say you've gone a bit overboard. Until then, nice config!
