What kind of stuff will you be doing on this other PC? I think the Max will only be worth it for games.

G450 has a touch better image quality. Max is a bit quicker for games. Other than that, they're very similar.

The image quality of the G450 and G400 series is the same because they are based on the same core architecture (For core architecture i mean the "chip scheme", not the building architecture that for G450 is 0.18um and for G400 0.25)!
However G450 cards are slower than normal G400 because they have 64bit DDR bus instead of 128 one!
        Take a G400 D.H or a G400MAX

If you´re ever going to consider playing games so go with the MAX.

My G450 is a 'bit' clearer and more vibrant than my G400 (OC'ed to MAX).

I'll second SteveC on that. I run my Cornerstone 21" @ 1600x1200 32bit 24/7 with both cards connected and can see a small improvement with the G450 over the G400 (Max).

Venturer, it's 64 bit DDR vs 128 bit SDR = virtualy the same proformance with the 128 bit being slightly faster

Birdy, if your leaning toward gaming, what monitor do you plan to use... if 17", another OC'd G400 vanilla might best suit you.

Of course I missed the most important... wait a tad longer and you won't have any question as to what your next choice will be (hint hint

right, so the impression i am getting here is that the g400 would be generally better if i plan on any gaming but for 2d there really is no difference.

                  Cheers guys
