  • New comp, need mouse wheel activated...

Just got a new machine at work and while it comes with a wheel mouse, I cannot get the wheel to work in any application. Mostly, I just want it active in Netscape/IE.

Nothing in Mouse properties deals with the wheel.

    It's a Compaq Deskpro EN, P3-866, 128M. It's not a USB mouse, btw.

[edit] We run NT (4, I believe) at work [/edit]

    Any ideas?

Sorry, the mouse is a Logitech mouse...

As I don't know NT very well, I thought (was hoping) it was simply a setting I was missing...

[edit] went to Compaq site and d/l mouse driver, installed, everything is ducky now!

SteveC, thanks for not saying "Take your dumb@ss to Compaq or Logitech and get some drivers" (like you SHOULD'VE done). I just assumed our crack Desktop Services folks wouldn't take out the mouse driver and replace it with a regular PS/2 one... [/edit]
