  • Q on Front Side Bus speed on ABIT BH6

    Hi. How does one increase the front side bus (FSB) speed to 100MHz? I have an ABIT BH6 mobo, Celeron 300A overclocked to 450MHz, and a Maxtor Diamondmax 2880 UDMA33 HD, 5400RPM. Reason I ask is I want to upgrade my machine to do desktop video editing, and the capture card I am considering (Maxtrox RT2000) has the BH6 as a recommended compatible motherboard, but with 100MHz FSB. How do I determine what the current FSB is? I didn't see that term in the manual. Will the Matrox work at my bus speed, whatever that is?

    Thx,
    Hal

    If you realy have a 300A @ 450 then you're
    FSB is already at 100mz.
    processor speed = multiplier x fsb
    300 = 66.66 x 4.5
    450 = 100.0 x 4.5

    The fsb on the bh6 is set in the bios.

      and turbo mode would put it at 464, fsb @103. (but at bootup all that's displayed is 450)
