  • IDE Read-ahead

this is the ali ide program that came with the drivers, it allows me to change the read ahead settings.....

i heard that setting read ahead to more will speed up your hard drive, i also heard setting it to less will improve performance cos it wouldnt read uneccesary(xcuse spelling) data.. what do you ppl think i should do ???

also, does the windows read ahead setting (in file system properties) affect this.... is it controlling the same parameters ??? or are they both different??
