  • New Via Chipset and G200??

Hi all. I see that alot of Via chipsets have alot of probs with Gxx Chipsets. My old Celeron A 300 needs a home along with my G200 8meg. A local reputable store has a new motheroboard for sale, an Abit AH6(i think) and it has a Via chipset that can run at 133mhz fsb and is a slot one (for my celly300). Is this ok or should I try to find a BX board?

Well, I never had any troubles with my G200 in my VIA based Athlon board. That doesn't necessarily proove anything though.

The one thing that I noticed is that my G200 isn't very agreeable with haveing the AGP bus OC'd. So if you plan on ocing then you should make sure that you get an MB that has alternate dividers for the AGP.

Thanx for the reply, but it is a bit of a moot point now as I grabbed a P3B instead and sold the good old P2B-G200-iCeleron300a-128meg combo. But I have a kickin new sound system and bigger monitor. So far the P3B is great.
