  • 19" High Quality Flat CRT Monitor

I'm looking to upgrade my Sony CPD-G200 to a 19" monitor.

Generally, I'm pretty satisfied with Sony. The few anal problems I have about it are:

-The color white doesn't seem bright, seems as if it's dulled out
-Geometry of the displayed image isn't a perfect rectangle. Doesn't matter how much I mess with the geometry settings.

I'd like to keep my mind open in case there is a better option than the Sony CPD-G400.

After scouring the newsgroups, it seems I found a lot of Sony G400 vs Eizo T761 comparisons. Anyone have first hand experience with both?

I tried looking for monitor reviews that covered flat-screen 19" monitors, but didn't find any.

One more thing, anyone know of any monitor calibration software other than adobe's? I'm looking to get the perfect color, contrast, sharpness, moire, convergence, etc..

BTW, I did find an interesting link on calibrating monitors: http://www.aim-dtp.net/aim/index.htm

Does anyone know where to get the latest version of AdobeGamma? I can't seem to find any links to it on the Adobe site!

It's a characteristic of Apperature Grille monitors, unfortuately, and sed to piss me off to no end. Nothing you can do about it except to get it as close as possible and learn to ignore it

It's worth it to have a flat screen and better contrast and colour representation (IMHO!), but that's very subjective. Many ppl say text is better on shadow masks, and they may be right.

They'll still have to pry my ViewSonic PF815 from my cold, dead fingers, though
