  • DVD sir structure problems under win2k...

    Hi guys,

I had a bit of a prob with a PC Format DVD a little while back, and Future Publishing have reposnded with this fix:

    ---
If you're having problems reading some directories on the DVDs (can't see
anything more than 2 levels down), please try downloading and installing the
    Adaptec UDF Reader from here:
    http://www.adaptec.com/support/advis...dfreaders.html

It seems that some versions of Windows (particularly Win2000), combined with
some drives and/or drivers, don't handle UDF (the standard DVD format)
properly. Initial tests here show that Adaptec's software fixes the problem.
    ---

    And it works!

    ------------------
    Cheers,
    Steve

Adaptec's UDF is screwy. Stick in a 7gb DVD and then right-click on the DVD drive and do a properties. It'll say 2gb. Windows 2000 default UDF drivers report the corret size.

Reporting 2Gb is better than not being able to access parts of the disc, DosFreak !
