  • RAM Question... VCMRAM???

I will buy some more/new memory soon but I don't know what to buy?? Mushkin, Crusial and so on...

Today I noticed a new (at least for me) memory type, VCM-Memory (Virtual channel memory). What tha hell is that????

    Here is some specs:
    Size: 128MB
    Type: VCM-Memory
    Bus-Speed: 133MHz
    Timings: 5.4ns
    CAS: CL2
    By: Apacer

It's sound pretty cool!! But is Mushkin PC133 CL2 Rev.2 better? How does VCM manage with overclocking? Does it work on my ABiT BE6-2 mobo?

If you have some info off this please let me know!!

I don't think it works an BX MoBos; I think you need a VIA 133 and up MoBo to use VMC.

It's a method of accessing memory by NEC. It's preformance over SDRAM is very little in real world. Was not worth the price difference last time I looked; not sure about today.

Also, not at all sure about is OCing potential.

Just get some really good SDRAM. Crucial (Most of what I have), Corsair (Also have some), some of the Mushkin stuff(such as the one you mentioned), EMSDRAM(I think that's what it called, sold by Mushkin as PC150), and Infinion (Semans), are good examples.
