  • CD-rom slow and giving problem

    my cdrom is slow.. it skip.. sometimes every couple of secs it skips, then takes a couple of secs to spin-up again... its a crappy no name brand... i hate it..

    its a 36x(although doesnt go anywhere close) cdrom made by actima www.actima.net

    would it help if i put it in secondary master... currently its in secondary slave... ??? there are no devices on secondary master...

    what should i do?

    If it's the only device on the chanell, then absolutly make it the master. Then check in DEVICE MANAGER if it's DMA transfers are turned on.
