  • I am bored. should I install Win2K? (Please read)

    Hey guys.
well, I have the Win2K disc sitting right here, near my desk... all my hardware is compatible....
however, the only reason I am thinking about upgrading is becuase... well... I AM BORED.
    yep. that's it.
Windows 98 runs just fine... really tweaked and optimized... however, I am a little bored now... nothing new to install or upgrade, and that nice shiny Win2K CD is collecting dust...
I am not a gamer, yet, I am happy with Win 98.
    BUT I AM BORED!
So... should I upgrade just becuase of bordem?

    thanks guys.

    What are you waiting for.

It'll run great on your system, just remember to dual boot with Win98 just in case.

Heck yes! If all of your hardware is compatable then go for it. I'm dual booting tween 98 and 2000(although, after tonight that might be ME and 2000). I love 2000, everything just runs better. It's a very subtle difference at first, but once you use it for a while, it just sort of grows own you. And besides which, boredom is one of the BEST reasons I can possibly think of to poke at your computer and try new things!

Yeah go for it, 2000 is by far the best OS I've used to date.
Word of warning, the last time I was "bored" I reinstalled the OS to change which partition it was on and to hopefully remove Win98. What should have been a quick job took 12hrs and I still have Win98SE installed Last time I do something when bored.

Yes, if you're bored you should really try to install win2k. With a hefty 65000 bugs in there it'll bring you new kind of error you never thought was possible
