The best my p3 500 will do is 575..the memory can't take any more (brandless pc 100)
so maybe you can go even higher.

lol.. the bus speed is that thing you set to 112..the muliplier is the 5.5 wich you should set to 5.0 for your procesor..I think the multiplier is locked on the pIII 500 but I'm not really sure (you should get 616 with a 5.5 multiplier and 112 bus)sure try setting the bus to 124 If your ram will accept it and you don't get many lockups...you'll be running @ 620 which is great for a piii 500..I'm pretty sure the matrox can take the overclock on the bus I'm running mine at 124 with no probs...and remember to use good cooling (less than 10 bucks)it can make a big difference

damn, I didn't notice you had an ecs motherboard..they really aren't too overclockable even the ones with the BX chipset..your sistem is pretty nice and you really are slowing it down with that mainboard..an upgrade there will really make a difference..I had one...trust me

                      The temp is OK!
Everything belove 45 is great (it works above that to but it aint great anymore).
If everything else holds go ahead.

(Sorry Edski, had been trying to get an sraight answer somwhere else and it developed into a overclocking bragparty...)

I have mine running at 620 (124FSB) on a P3B-F and it works fine, all I added was one extra fan and the temp was fine, although I've stopped doing that now because it was a two wire fan and I had to use a power box that I no longer have access to to power it.

My PIII500E is running @720mhz. Stock cooling, etc etc. Thats a coppermine chip. Not sure if that's what you guys are running.
Don't think you can run the Katmai CPU's as hard. 30 deg c is quite comfortable for the CPU. It can get much hotter than that without too much drama.

                            Cheers,

If i buy a intel 800eb, and i have pc100 sdram - probably cheap stuff; will i able to run it a it's 133mhz bus speed, or will i have to underclock it or get better sdram?
