  • 39 pin IDE connectors

The company I work for was getting rid of some old computers, I got a pentium 133 with no cd rom drive, or O/S. I want to get it up and running to learn how to upgrade and work on a computer before I try anything on my main computer. I noticed on the mainboard that the primary and secondary IDE connectors had 39 rather than 40 pins. Is this a problem? No any good driver archives? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

is it just like a normal 40 pin but with a pin removed?

If so this is very common and a normal ide lead will work no worries. Some manufacturers remove a pin hole on th ecable to assist orientation so the mainboard must have the same pin removed. Asus do this and others.
