      Bongo:

I know that's a pain. There is an option in the creative launcher options to disable it, but I forget where. It's called just "disable updates"... which is a bit misleading. Since I don't have Win9x I can't say exactly where it is. If you can't find it go to the creative newsgroups, it's all over there.

If you are using Win98/SE/2000 then you can go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information. This will open the Sysem Information program. In the program select Tools -> System Configuration Utility (or something like that, I am at work so I am guessing here).

This program will allow you to modify ALL of your sart up applications, including Startup folder apps, reg startup apps, win.ini and all the rest. The update notification thingy will be in there somewhere, just disable it and reboot.

Actually Jammrock, no. It's part of the Liveware!, which unfortunately needs to be running. GRR.

            But it can be disabled.

            I said how up above.

              It's pretty well hidden.
Look at the icon I selected for this message. There's a similar one on the Live! Taskbar (or whatever it was called).
Click on the little arrow to its right..
              There's no place like 127.0.0.1
