  • Are 300Watt enough for k7_700 & g400 32MB SH?

I wonder how much cash I´d need to spend
for a PS.. are 300watt enough for the following COMBO ?

    Mainboard: FIC SD11

    CPU: ATHLON 700

    GRAPHIX: G400 32mb SH

    RAM: 128mb 100mhz nonECC

OR should it be better to have more than
    300Watt ( 350+) ?
    I don´t want to overclock anything...really!

I have a PowerMan 300w supply that I've tested Athlon700@950mHz on and worked fine. This customer is now running happily @ 1 gig now using a 300w supply. My Athlon500@850 set to 1.9v is also running fat and happy with this same supply. Bottem line, use an AMD recommended supply.

I have a Fortron Source 300W power supply. It's powerful, and quieter than your average CPU fan. I have my 500@750 (at 1.85V, but I've had 1.9V). G400 Max, SB Live, 2 HD's, and I've done CD->CD copying. Plenty of juice.

Can you get rid of the SD11? It's a crappy board.

Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

        ok, thanks all of you.
        300 seem to be ok.
I´ve purchased the mboard last month. It was really cheap; I was happy to have such a board and now I read everywhere that it´s pretty bullshit. Now I´ve the money for a CPU & the PS...
Hope the shop I bought it at will take it
back or change it with another board...
but first I want to see wether it does
such bad errors everybody is warning about.

        Shit happens!
