random lockups in 3d apps/games

i was getting some random lockups in hl and ut every once in a while my system would lock up. even when i forced 1x agp. the only changes made to a the previus rock stable system was i had just finished testing some ld pc133 ram for a friend in this system (3 weeks no crashes ect...) then i reinstalled my own ram and my problems showed up (where they wern't before) any way i thought it might be a dimm slot problem and i opened my case and found that one of my dimms was not fully seated. pushing down i heard a click and saw the lock lever move just a hair. so if your getting random lockups with green vertical bars ect.. check your memory make sure its fully seated (mine wasn't)

msi 6167 mobo k7 500 wk41 now at 650. 256 meg ram ,addtronics case w 250watt sp power supply, matrox g400, maxtor diammax 2500+ 10gig hd,10x aopen slot dvd, 3com 10/100 nic, sb live xgamer sound card, efecent networks dsl modem, dlink 701i dsl router/firewall, lots of controlers (joystick throttle rudder raceing wheel), 19in ctx monitor, logitech mouseman wheel usb, and klipsch promedia v2-400 speakers. win98 oem and win2k pro dual boot.
