  • Slovenian police go on strike, write less tickets, number of deadly accidents drops

Slovenian police go on strike, write way less tickets, number of deadly accidents drops significantly during this time. So they were just writing tickets to fill the budget.

1st graph total traffic fines in EUR
    2nd graph deadly traffic accidents

Also just before strike migrants started arriving so police was busy preventing them from burning their tents, escorting them... So there were less police on the roads in August.

How much of that is seasonal, if you look at the Sep-Dec 2014 period it also has a drop?

I don't know. But here December is the time where people get bonuses and meet all friends for a drink and all companies and associations have new year parties where people drink (Slovenians drink about as much or slightly more as the UK, definitely above average for Europe). Also most people here live in small towns where public transit or taxi is not very viable after drinking late.

These graphs are weird, eaxtly what does the second purport to show? Deaths per month? In that case I would think they are missung data from dec/14 until aug/15. Same goes for the first although the graph is possible (barely though).
