Hey lynx is PRO, only a PRO would use a text based browser

While some of them are just based on the exsitng browsers I am pretty sure Konqueror is not based on any other browser(as is lynx )

            Didn't recognize anything below Netscape

Where did all those web browsers come from?

              Sorry, only four count:

              Chrome
              Firefox
              Opera
              Safari

I keep these +IE (various versions of each) on my office machine just to check web site behaviour but I use FF exclusively on other machines.
IE does not conform to HTML

26% of the world uses IE exclusively. And a supermajority in the Americas. The fact that it is technically inferior is irrelevant, you still have to take it into account.

I find myself agreeing with Gurm. Boy he really DID mellow!

Seriously though, a big chunk of my customers are corporates, even military on occassion. So I have to support all the way back to IE6!!! ARGHHHH!!!

I hear that pain. When your web app has to not break in any browser back to IE6, or any OS back to Win98... *sigh*

Sometimes its the 'good' browsers that give problems too. Just yesterday we uncovered an issue with JCarousel and Chrome when browsing with a zoom. The solution is the latest library...not a 10 minute fix to get that rolled out!

Chrome has actually been breaking a LOT of web apps lately. Fully half of my company's SaaS apps had to be updated recently after the Chrome update.

Well, you can revert to HTML-1 and a simple text editor!

Don't forget Win 95, Win 2, Win 1, DOS and CP/M, also various MAC, UNIX flavours etc!
