I would beat all of you if you let me show you the 40+ cables behind my home stereo system rather than my computer which I can count 15 off the top of my head... It's scary back there!!!!

          Okay...

I'm only listing computer components - not any of that 'portable phone' or 'cd player' stuff just because they happen to run behind my computer...

          power to UPS
          power from comp to UPS
          power from monitor to UPS
          power from scanner to UPS
          power from printer to UPS
power from speaker set 1 to UPS
power from speaker set 2 to UPS
          USB from comp to printer
          USB from scanner to printer
          comp to keyboard
          comp to mouse
          comp to sub 1
          comp to sub 2
          sub1 to speaker 1
          speaker 1 to speaker 2
          sub2 to speaker 3
          speaker 3 to speaker 4
          phone line to UPS
phone line from UPS to modem

Okay, not that many (compared to others). I'm moving next week and I am not looking forward to untangling everything, moving it all, and then putting it all back together. Day after I move comes the cable to NIC connection - that would make the grand total 20.
