  • AGP Speed

    Hi All,

I'm running a moderately overclocked system (see specs below). AGP is currently set at 96mhz x2. Everything is running well at this speed. But when i hit 150mhz fsb (100mhz AGP) the graphics card droppes it's bundle.

I'm not too worried - i realise that most cards would poo their pants at 96mhz :-), but i'd be interested to see if any of you hardcore overclockers out their are running your Matrox cards @100mhz or faster.

If so, did you have to do anything special to get there, like waving dead chickens around, that sort of thing:-)

    Cheers,

    Giskard.

    System:

    PIII 500E @ 720mhz
    Soyo SY-6BA+ IV Motherboard
    128mb PC133 Apacer SDRAM
    16mb Matrox G400 O/C by 10%
    AGP @ 96mhz set at 2x
    13.5gig Westerndigital Expert hdd @ ATA66
    Win 98SE

Force it to 1x, and see if she fares better.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Hi, when I was overclocking using SoftFSB my AGP speed was at 100mhz, it ran fine at 2x so I was getting a nice performance boost. I've heard that 105 is about the limit without frying your card BIOS. I've since altered the jumpers on the board so I'm back at a realtivly pokey 66 2x bus speed.

Tried switching to AGP 1x, upping the fsb to 150mhz, rebooted and got a divide overflow error when stating win98.

Does this shed any light on the situation?
