Human body design: my philosophy
As an 80-y.o., I have difficulty in understanding why the good Lord designed my body with the feet so far away when I have to cut my toenails.

You're not supposed to cut them. You're supposed to grow them (and your fingernails) out to about 1-2" and file them to a razor's edge. Just get used to sandals and open-fingered gloves.
(You only have to look a little crazy to keep miscreants from messing with you.

But yeah, I hear you. I used to be able to bite my toenails. Not anymore. Granddaughter can do it. Grosses grandma out to no end. -
