  • An android? powered concept phone

Well would you look at that, the perfect phone. All it took was a couple extra panels and there it was, all conceptualized and turned…

looks amazing.. especially the part in the video where it acts as an e-book

doubt it would happen any time in the near future but hoping the some of the technology showcased would come into other phones soon..

a dual-screen version would be enough for me

Pretty sweet. This is the sort of innovation and originality the phone market needs. Everyone is so worried about making the next iPhone-killer that no real risks are being taken and we keep seeing the same basic design being pushed out with minor, arbitrary differences.

Flexible displays are going to make some pretty interesting stuff possible.

One is a little ditty that BAE (UK arms co), the US & Swedes are working on: eCamouflage. It's a coating & sensors for military vehicles, aircraft & perhaps soldiers uniforms that renders them optically invisible.

Recent public US military literature says tests of tracked vehicles start in the next 2-3 years, but Boeing tested a low-res monochromatic version on their Bird of Prey testbed a few years ago. There are two BoP's on display at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio, but minus the coating. Yes, they really flew.

eCamouflage might filter into the civilian world at some point, but early on it'll stay milspec.
