  • 18 micron Athlon 650, where to get?

    Hey gang:

Does anyone know a reliable source I can be guranteed to get the Y2K 18 micron Athlon 650's? I am building a system for a friend and he insisted on the newer cpu's. Mr. PainInTheAss!

    Thanks

Suppose he could go fly to Dresden and ask real nice, for a sample.
Better chance than buying one at retail.
      They are not available yet.

Um, Mark, I hate to tell you this, but you're wrong. (Not that I blame you or anything, it's not something that can usually be verified one way or the other)
I just ordered an Athlon 650 from Accubyte www.accubyte.com last week, it got here on Teusday. To my incredible joy it was a week 3 2000 .18 micron 3.1 ns cache Athlon 650. Of course I promptly ripped the cover off to verify it.
So, anyway, to Sir Hitech, thats one place you could try at least. Of course, the other way to make sure that you get a new one is to be a jerk and demand that they verify the one they send you is one of the new ones. Actually, if you ask them politely enough, or perhaps amuse them by telling them that your friend is being bitchy about it, they would probably be more than happy to do so.
