  • win2k + g400max, irq sharing problem

Anyone know how to make my matrox use an open irq instead of sharing it with my sb live in win2k? Ive tried moving around the live and playing with the bios settings with no luck. As you can see from the list i have plenty free irq's. BTW I'm using a k7m,and the newest win2k beta drivers for the matrox.

More info on Win 2000 ACPI Hardware Abstraction Layer in MS Article Q237556 and Q246236. Go here http://www.microsoft.com/ms.htm and type Q237556 in Search.

My system with Win 2000 has G400, SB Live, SCSI Chipset, LAN Chipset and USB all on IRQ 9. I was told that during setup, when you are prompted to hit F6, hit F5 instead and you can select Standard PC installation, then you can control IRQ's through BIOS again.

      Thanks for the replys.

I used to have my sound card, my vid card, my 2 usb controllers(utill i disabled them b/c i'm not using them right now) and ACPI all on 9 until I moved stuff around trying to fix it. But all seems to be well and stable with the previously posted irq list, so i'm not going to worry about it.
