  • Now, THAT'S what I call breakfast!

And the record for the Largest Commercially Available English Breakfast went to Mario's Cafe Bar in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

For £10.95 customers can tuck into six rashers of bacon, six sausages, four eggs, six slices of bread, five black puddings, mushrooms, a can of beans and tomatoes.

But if they manage the meal in under 20 minutes - it is free.
I think it would just about satisfy Doc M's cholesterol needs for one day! I wonder whether they have an ambulance waiting outside!

    Good old Manc

Even trying to eat that in under 20mins would give serious indigestion...my mouth is watering though...
Everytime I go back to the UK, I always have a full cooked breakfast, no matter what the time of day.

BTW: my last cholesterol was a piddling 112 w/trivial triglycerides & LDL

There's a family restaurant near here that offers a "Lumberjack Breakfast" that has to be served on a turkey platter - $7.99.

3 jumbo eggs (xx-large grade) as you like 'em (omelette optional)
4 slices thick-cut bacon (peppered optional)
      4 sausages or sausage patties
1 large slice of ham (~ 3/8" thick)
~2 cups hash brown potatoes (Southern style or American fries optional)
4 small pancakes or 1 Belgian waffle
2 slices Texas toast (1" thick slices w/garlic butter)
      6 oz glass orange juice
      Coffee

Their 2 eggs, toast, hash browns & OJ breakfast is $2.59

Their dinners are bigger, and each comes with its own 12 oz loaf of pumpkin, blueberry, banana or poppyseed bread. Average about $12.99. Tops is $15.99.

One of those mom & pops where if you go home hungry it's not their fault. You might have to crawl to your car, but you won't still be hungry.
