  • CAS2 or not CAS2 - Fraud?

    Problem: Ordered 128 PC133 CAS2 ECC from memoryshippers.com

SPD on my ASUS P3B-F shows greyed boxes below it that indicate 3-2-2 timings. If those boxes are acturally reflecting the EEPROM settings, then it ain't cas2.

I forced cas 2 by manual config. When I did I got "illegal operation" errors and other tell tale memory timing problems.

They are micron chips with code:
    MT 48LC8M8A2-7.5 C

    I noticed that all crucial pc133 cas 2 has a 7ns rating, and cas3 7.5ns.

    Did I get hosed?

    Pleas post!!!
    System: P4 2.4, 512k 533FSB, Giga-Byte GA-8PE667 Ultra, 1024MB Corsair XMS PC333, Maxtor D740x 60GB, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, PCPower&Cooling Silencer 400.

Capture Drives (for now): IBM 36LZX 9.1, Quantum Atlas 10KII 9.1 on Adaptec 29160

Check out the SPECS on Microns modules. Go to page 10 of 55 for the CAS speeds. it looks like the -7.5C is CAS 3 at 133MHz.
