GM is in negotiations with Google to form an OnStar partnership for Google/Android-enabled cars.
In the deal GM cars, including Volt, could be deployed with the Android operating system that Google developed for smartphones.
Google Maps, real-time data, voice and search services would then become part of the vehicle OS along with access to online entertainment. Google data and Android would replace GM's traditional OnStar by making it obsolete.
