  • Legacy Question AMI bios

I'm embarassed to admit this but I've forgotten how to access the bios on an old AOpen AP5C/P board with the AMI bios. Any assistance greatly appreciated, it must be a symptom of advancing senility on my part.

Well, according to the FAQs at www.Aopen.nl you'll have to press either insert or delete.

But doesn't it say on the initial screen (where the RAM-count is happening) ?? If our monitor is slow in initializing and all you ever see is the POST, press pause on the keyboard if you think it'll show by now.

Thanks for the reply, unforunately the bios prompt does not display on post like an AWARD bios, you are expected to know this by some unkown method I guess.

Depending on the brand of PC, it could also be F10, or alt+F10 (Compaq uses this method alot), CTRL+Delete, F2 (Tulip and HP), or you have to use a bootdisk to reach the BIOS (some other brands).

Well it turns out that with this particular board you hold down the delete key on post and then "F1" will take you into the bios from the keyboard error prompt. Thanks again.
