  • Woo Hoo! BP6 owners may get dual PIII after all!

Check out http://www.powerleap.com/PL_S370.htm . With SMP capable PIII's it should work! Just need a BIOS from ABIT with PIII Coppermine support. Also, does anyone remember which PIII Cu's are SMP capable. I seem to recall an article saying that the 550E and 600E's were SMP capable.

    thanks...

Bringing it to the top... Check out http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001265.html . There will be a test posted saying if two PIII 550E FC-PGA's will work in a dual Slot 1 board. Why would a BP6 owner care? Because it will show that the current 550E's are not SMP disabled like Intel said!!!

in certain adapters they are, however, with the power leap, they aren't
its sorta like haveing to origenally modify the celeron PCB to get fsb, the same goes for the 550

I already got (2) Iwill Socket II adapters and (1) P3550e processor. I'm waiting to get the second processor on Friday.

If nothing goes wrong I will test a dual 550e on a DBL dual slot 1 motherboard.
I will post how overclockable it will be using this board.
