Don't do it! Software just screws up everything!

Ok, maybe a few programs for benchmarking purposes and the SETI client.

But that's it. Why mess with perfection?

Same thing happened to me - no sound when I first installed win2000. I did not install creative drivers because I new they would not work, from other posts. Win2000 (2195) loaded it's default sblive drivers. The problem was I was using digital out. When I switched to from the rca jack to the mini-jack on the sblive straight into the amp it worked fine. The digial out does not work with the standard drivers. It also supports only 2 speakers.

          What dwright said.
I notice you have FPS2000, you are probably using the digital connection, switch to the analog out and see whether you have the problem still.
SBLive analog works (supported) since RC2

I don't have rear speakers either. Don't think the bundled drivers have 4-speaker support. Here's the email I got:

                  <blockquote>Jon,

We will not be providing support for Windows 2000 until it is released as a retail product on February 17. After this date, we will be releasing drivers for our currently shipping products as they become available.
